YouTube was introduced by owners of Google more than a decade ago, and the journey has been interesting, fun, entertaining and informative.
YouTube has over the years not only given room for creators around the world to exhibit their talents by posting funny, entertaining, informative and educative videos on their platform, there have also and most importantly created millionaires and billionaires.

YouTube has been a platform many go to laugh, learn, and have fun. I particularly check out on the platform anytime I want to laugh, have fun, see music videos, learn something about sports, beauty, writing, blogging, etc. YouTube is my favorite social media platform at the moment next to Facebook and TikTok.
The platform is open for everyone to use. I personally think everyone should have a YouTube channel just as they have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit,TikTok, among others. There is a perception you create a channel on YouTube only when you want to become a professional video creator. I believe that perception resulted from the fact that majority of people truly sign up on YouTube to start professional video creation. It is time to change that perception. You need to start your YouTube channel right now.
To create a YouTube channel:
Firstly, you need a Gmail account to create a YouTube channel. Sign up for a Gmail account and get an electronic mail.
Secondly, After signing up for a Gmail account, go to to YouTube and use the gmail that you just created to sign up for a YouTube account.
Lastly, you are done. YouTube channel created. The next step is to post your channel cover art and profile picture. Post your first video and that is it. You now have a YouTube channel. Start posting your preferred videos from any niche such as education, sports,fashion, beauty, entertainment, among others.
It is now time to decide the niche that you prefer. First of all, there are two ways to go about this in the initial stages. You can start by generalizing your niche thus doing at least three niches such as lifestyle, entertainment and sports simultaneously. On the other hand, you can specialize on one niche such as entertainment. It is all up to you and the direction that you want to go regarding your YouTube channel.
Be consistent with your video updates.Consistency has always been the key. Imagine that you sell food and get customers every time you open your restaurant. If you start opening in odd days and not at least seven days a week, you will start loosing customers. In everything you do, be consistent. Nine out of Ten successful YouTube influencers will tell you to be consistent.
Also, promote and market your channel and brand effectively. Whatever niche or brand you carve for yourself, stick to it. The followers you have are because of that particular content that you feed them with, so if you start changing it, your channel engagement will spiral downwardly with time. Promote your content on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, among others. No matter the huge following or subscribers that you have on YouTube, you need to always promote your content on social media platforms.
Again, after creating your YouTube channel, start paid or free collaborations with popular or bigger creators on the platform. Like it or not, you will get some followers of that Influencer to start following you immediately after featuring that person on your platform or being featured by that influencer on their huge platform.
