Things Ghanaians Do in Lorry Buses

Ghana is a very beautiful country in West Africa. My country Ghana is still developing, hence majority of its populace still uses Lorry Buses popularly called ‘TroTro’.

Every Ghanaian has taken TroTro at some point in their life even if they own a car at the moment. I still take TroTro to work but I will buy my own car soon.

Ghanaians do certain things in the Lorry Bus. Here are some of it;

Firstly, in the Lorry Bus, most Ghanaians tend to have conversations with other passengers in the bus. Everyone who has been in a Lorry bus has talked or have a conversation with someone. Sometimes, you have a question about something and you will have to ask the person sitting near you.

Secondly, one of the things that Ghanaians do in the Lorry Bus is listen to news. Majority of drivers in Ghana who drives Lorry buses have radio stations fixed in their cars and once you board one in the morning especially, you can listen to morning news. I like to get updated about things going on around me especially in my country Ghana. As such, it is always good for me when I board a Lorry Bus and there is news on the station. Being informed about things makes you more proactive and learned. It gives you more insight about how the world works.

Again, some Ghanaians like to eat while in the Lorry Bus. I have eaten in the bus before so have so many other Ghanaians. Sometimes, you can become very hungry while in a Lorry Bus and the only option will be to eat. I mostly eat half of my food to continue the rest when I get home after reaching my destination.

Also, Ghanaians learn while sitting in the Lorry Bus. I use to learn in the Lorry Bus when I was on my way to school, especially when I had an exam to write.

Lastly, people in Ghana sometimes use the Lorry bus to transport foodstuffs and other home appliances to their homes and offices. I have used the Lorry bus as a medium to learn all the time and it has helped me in many difficult situations.
